ABOUT ME

Welcome HORIZON Parents to the 2021-2022 school year! My name is Renee Anderson and I am the Elementary School Counselor and Student Council Advisor at Horizon. This is my ninth year in the profession, fourth year at Horizon, and I am so proud to be a Harrisburg Tiger!

I'm currently attending USD for my last year of the Ed.D in School Leadership program. I have a specialist degree in K-12 Leadership (Ed.S), a master's degree in School Counseling (M.S.) from South Dakota State University, and a bachelor's degree in both Psychology and Anthropology from the University of Michigan- Dearborn. I am a former volleyball player for the NAIA as a Wolverine (#goBIGblue) where I had the privilege of being awarded the NAIA All American team in 2007. 

I enjoy DIY projects, reading, dancing, coaching, and most importantly, spending time with my family! I love to have fun, make new experiences, try new foods, and to laugh. Life will throw its challenges, but with love, support, and unconditional positive regard, anything is possible! "Every day may not be good. But there is good in every day!"  

My passion is helping students succeed in all areas of their lives. It's an honor having the opportunity to work with the students, families, and staff here at Horizon!
